In a Classroom, you are more than just a teacher.

A day in the life of a teacher can be busy, challenging, and rewarding.

I believe in a classroom you are more then just a teacher, you are a friend, helper, doctor, parent and listener.

During my 3 Days of Day in a Life of a Teacher, their were many challenges such as to keep

learners remaining alert and interested in class. But far more challenging was having to maintain pupils' attention and interest.

The most challenging part was for me to transition into the teacher even though i was familiar with the whole concept. It took the learners time to adjust to me being the new face in the classroom while my mentor would just supervise. I was nervous during Block 1. I used my classroom management tool for learners to show respect to me and behave in class. This tool worked better in Block 2 as learners were more familiar with it rather then in Block 1. I learnt excellent teacher inspires and empowers their students in addition to imparting knowledge. I managed to complete all the responsibilities of a teacher for each day. Some of the responsibilities were: Admin duties; register, extra murals, break duties, morning and afternoon duties as well as extra murals and homework till 16:00.

During Block 1 Day 1: The duties were fairly easy and i enjoyed my time thoroughly. I spent most of my day doing duties and teaching concepts. I found myself with a lot of time on my hands compared to Block 2. Teachers often start their day by preparing for the lessons and activities ahead. This includes organizing materials, reviewing lesson plans, and setting up the classroom. I spent lots of time Interacting with students is a crucial part of a teacher's day. They may greet students as they enter the classroom, take attendance, and address any immediate concerns or questions. Teachers are responsible for maintaining a positive and productive learning environment. This involves managing student behavior, resolving conflicts, and promoting a sense of community and respect among students. I regularly assess student progress to ensure that learning objectives are being met during lessons.

During Block 2 Day 1: The day started off by doing admin duties and marking homework books. The duties were more intense as it was assessment week, there was a lot of marking and revision. I spent a lot of time repeating work to help students prepare for exams and doing reading assessments.

I found out teachers often work in teams or collaborate with other educators to share ideas, plan lessons, and address student need. I held a parents meeting and I learnt teachers often communicate with parents and families to provide updates on student progress, discuss any concerns, and collaborate on strategies to support student learning. during the day I faced various challenges during a typical day, both inside and outside the classroom. These challenges can impact their ability to effectively teach and support student. Compared to block 1 the duties were more intense due to the assesments and the wrapping up of the term.

During Block 2 Day 2: I managed to spend my time wisely doing a lot of admin duties and marking as it was towards the end of the week and I had to wrap up the work for the week. The learners were writing a progression test and reading assessments they were very stressed. The classroom behaviour was very difficult on this day. I managed to come up with new strategies to manage behaviour on the day. I did all my admin duties in the morning as well as did an extra mural activity and homework with the learners in the afternoon. I learnt on this day that teachers set clear expectations for student behavior by establishing ground rules for the classroom. This can be done by involving students in the rule-setting process, without allowing them to control it, as this clarifies that the teacher is in charge.

During my time I learnt teachers shape the future every day by influencing the perspectives and understandings of their students. Teachers help kids develop their creativity, develop their character, give them lenses through which to view the world, and give them the tools they need to reach their potential. As a teacher when you utilize your intelligence and imagination to encourage pupils to be enthusiastic about and learn about the science in their classes.

During my self evaluation I rated myself provident and distinguished in my self evaluation guide. I was able to reflect about my lessons and my day in a life. I could communicate efficiently and had background of subject knowledge. i understood different diversities and included them into my lessons, I could also use technology and had school curriculum knowledge as it was a Cambridge school.

There is always room for improvement, after I reflected on my day in a life i wish i had more knowledge of robotics and online admin systems.
